1. e4 e5 2. ♘f3 ♘c6 3. ♗b5 a6 4. ♗a4 ♘f6 5. O-O ♗e7 6. d3 Hi! I'm Peter Svidler and here I present my next large-scale project, after my series on the Grunfeld. The Spanish is my second favorite opening and I have been playing it with both colors for over 20 years. For this eBook I deal with the highly topical line you see on the board, when White plays d3 on move 6. In recent years many elite players have played this position with both White and Black, and it is a must-learn variation if you want to play the Spanish. My aim is to provide you with a working repertoire for White. To be honest, Black enjoys healthy play in this opening but I will try to show you some fresh ideas and will teach you how to react to all possible options Black can try. I hope you enjoy the journey!
