Dear Chessfriends,
my name is Francisco Vallejo. I am a chess grandmaster and one of the leading experts in the Nimzo-Indian Defence. In this eBook I want to show you my recommendations for Black's side in this opening. The Nimzo-Indian Defence begins with the following moves:
Why should Black play like this? First of all because the arising positions are complex and Black can play for a win. Furthermore, the plans of this opening are easy to understand. Usually, Black plays ...b6, castles short and sometimes he captures the knight on c3 with the bishop in order to inflict a doubled pawn on White's position. Afterwards, Black follows up with ...Ba6, ...Nc6-a5 to exert pressure on c4. These are the basic ideas. I wish you a lot of fun and hope that you can learn a lot from the explanations.
This eBook is a reference companion to the video series Juega la Nimzoindia available for €9.99 (or $10.99). A Premium membership gives you access to all video series and eBooks on chess24.
The Nimzo-Indian Defence is one of the most popular Defences in all of chess. It can lead to a great variety of pawn structures and generally features rich positions. Top class grandmaster Paco Vallejo provides you with a full Nimzo-Indian repertoire from Black's perspective, laying the focus on rather tricky sidelines and important plans.
