I'm International Master Lawrence Trent and I'm delighted to present to you the following series on the Trompowsky opening, one of my personal favourites, which I've used with great success for over 10 years. This eBook is intended as a quick reference guide, providing the moves and evaluations of each variation exclusively, whereas the video series itself contains a more in-depth and detailed explanation of the nuances and ideas behind this wonderful opening. The starting position of the Trompowsky comes about after:
1. d4 ♘f6 2. ♗g5 This looks like a very aggressive move, thrusting one of your pieces into your opponent's territory right from the off, but although the opening is perfect for the attack-minded player be conscious of the fact that some of the variations do lead to a more positional, slow game. Make sure you can play in both 1st and 5th gear before adding this to your repertoire!
