World Junior Championship

The World Junior Championship is a 13-round Swiss tournament taking place in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India from 8-21 August 2016. The winner becomes the World Junior Champion and receives 3,000 Euros and the GM title (if not already a GM). The 2nd and 3rd placed players receive the IM title. The favourites are Russia's Vladislav Artemiev and US talent Jeffery Xiong. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
