Monte Carlo FIDE Women’s Grand Prix

Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco is hosting the 1st stage of the 2015-6 FIDE Women’s Grand Prix, a series of four tournaments that will qualify the winner for a Women’s World Championship match. The 16 Grand Prix players must compete in three of the four tournaments, with the 12-player all-play-all event in France featuring the current World Champion Mariya Muzychuk and the highest rated female player, Hou Yifan. The prize fund is €75,000, with the winner earning €10,000 and €15,000 going towards the overall Grand Prix prize fund. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, with 30 minutes to the end of the game and a 30 second increment from move one. No draws can be agreed before move 30.
