Challengers Chess Tour Finals
Murzin, Volodar vs. Praggnanandhaa R
The Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour Finals sees the Top 8 players on the Tour compete in a knockout played on chess24 from October 14-17. Each match consists of four rapid games. If tied 2:2, then two blitz games are played, followed, if needed, by Armageddon. The top prize is $12,500 (out of a $40,000 prize fund) and a regular place on the next Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
The time control for rapid games is 10 minutes per player for all moves, with a 5-second increment added each move from move 1. The blitz games are 5+3, while for the Armageddon game White gets 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw means that Black wins the match. Official website: challengerschesstour.com
