GRENKE Chess Classic

The GRENKE Chess Classic is an 8-player supertournament held from 2-9 February in Baden-Baden, Germany. World Champion Magnus Carlsen will face 2013 winner Vishy Anand in their first encounter since the match in Sochi. New and old world no. 2s Fabiano Caruana and Levon Aronian are joined by Michael Adams, Etienne Bacrot and the top two from the 2014 German qualifier, Arkadij Naiditsch and David Baramidze. Each of the 7 rounds starts at 15:00 CET, with a single rest day on 5 February. The time control is 100 min for 40 moves + 50 min for 20 moves + 15 min for the rest of the game, with 30 sec added each move from move 1. If players are tied for first place a rapid play-off will take place. For other places the tiebreakers are most wins, wins with Black and then the result of their game.
