FIDE Candidates Tournament

The 2020 Candidates Tournament is an 8-player double round-robin that will decide Magnus Carlsen's challenger for the World Championship match that's now set to take place in Dubai in November-December 2021. The 14-round event began in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Yekaterinburg, Russia on 17 March 2020, but was interrupted by the coronavirus epidemic and will now resume on 19 April 2021. The prize fund is €500,000. The players have 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.
