The 2016 Czech Open is a huge chess festival taking place in the Tipsport Arena in Pardubice, Czech Republic from 13-31 July 2016. The Grandmaster Open runs from 22-30 July as a 9-round Swiss tournament for players with an Elo of 2100 or above. The prize fund is CZK 240,000 (about €9,000) with a first prize of CZK 75,000 (about €3,000) and the event is part of the ACP Tour. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move one. Official website: www.czechopen.net
