48th Biel International Chess Festival

The Biel Grandmaster Tournament is played from July 20-30, with a rest day on July 27th. The format is a double round-robin with six players, with a rating average of 2720 Elo points (category 19). If two (or more) players share first place, the winner will be determined by a tiebreak playoff on the morning of July 31st. Players receive 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 50 minutes for the following 20 moves, and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
