The Chess World Cup starts on Sunday and to celebrate we're launching a promotion for new Premium Members or those who want to switch their accounts from monthly to annual. Pick your World Cup hero and win a free month of membership for each round where he or she wins. Why not take this chance to get the maximum from the best chess site for learning and enjoying your favourite sport!
The month of September will be special for all chess players, with the excitement of the 128-player World Cup perhaps keeping us glued to our screens more than our loved ones would wish...
Extra months of Premium free!
To celebrate we're offering the following promotion in which you can go Premium and receive additional months free.
What do I have to do?
1) Purchase a yearly subscription to chess24
2) Write to support@chess24.com (please include your username) and let us know your World Cup hero. For every round the player wins your Premium Membership is extended by one month, so if you pick Magnus Carlsen and he wins the event you'd get a full 7 months free!
NO TIME TO WASTE!
You can only win months of Premium for each round which hasn't finished, so to gain a month of Premium for the first round you need to go Premium (and send an email to support@chess24.com) before 17:00 CEST on Monday 4th September. For the remaining rounds the chance to win will be over after 3 hours of play in the second game.
Of course the sooner you Go Premium and make your pick the more free months you can win, so why not go Premium this weekend? You won't regret it!
EXTRA OFFER
Double or triple your chances by choosing a 2 or 3-year account. If you take out a 2 or 3-year subscription you can select a second or third player and add up all the extra months they earn you!
How can I switch from monthly to annual?
Write an email to support@chess24.com. Our customer support will remove the current Premium account so you can purchase an annual Premium Membership. In addition to the offer you'll receive an extra month free.
Who should I pick?
Need some help? Check out Jan Gustafsson's predictions for the whole event:
Over 1,000 people have taken the challenge at Challonge and a 199-prediction sample shows a very clear favourite to win the event - Magnus Carlsen with 42.7% of the votes:
It's perhaps a surprise that Levon Aronian (13.6%) and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (12.1%) have such a clear lead over the rest, with the next best, Alexander Grischuk, the favourite of only 4% of chess fans.
Could Levon's great year continue in Tbilisi?
The other players who were picked to win were:
Of course you can, however, pick any of the 128 participants!
