Peter Svidler is not only the seven-time Russian Champion but also one of the world’s best commentators, combining humour and chess talent with English that would put many native speakers to shame. Who better, then, to star in our first live chess24 Q&A session! This Friday Peter will be in our Gibraltar studio to answer user questions on (almost) any topic under the sun.
Unfortunately technical issues meant we weren't able to broadcast live, but the full one and a half hour show can now be watched below!
So how does it work? Here’s a quick summary:
What? Supergrandmaster Peter Svidler will answer chess24 user questions during a live show hosted by Jan Gustafsson.
Where? Peter will be in our Gibraltar studio, but you can follow him right here, in the Livestream box above, which will go live when the show starts.
When? Friday 12th September 2014, 19:00-20:30 CET. That's 18:00-19:30 in London and 13:00-14:30 in New York.
How can I get involved? Simply post your questions in the comments under this article. Although anyone can watch the show live Peter will only answer questions from premium members - membership has its perks!
Not yet a premium
member? Why not take this opportunity to take out a chess24 Premium
Membership. For as little as €9.99 ($13.99) you can get unlimited access to our
Tactics Trainer, first priority for computer analysis during live tournaments and, last but by no means least, full access to our video library. So with a one-month membership you could watch Peter Svidler’s magnum opus – a 12+
hour series on the Grünfeld Defence (individual price: €29.99), his series on
Mikhail Tal (individual price: €6.99) AND ask the man himself questions on cricket, Tom Waits or even chess!
While waiting for the live broadcast - and thinking up questions - you might like to check out some interviews and other treats from Peter Svidler that we've published here at chess24:
