At 52, Boris Gelfand was the oldest of the legends in the chess24 Legends of Chess, but he was also one of the most successful. He started and ended well, beating not just fellow legends Vasyl Ivanchuk and Peter Leko, but Top 5 players Ding Liren and Ian Nepomniachtchi. On Saturday 8th August he's going to play Banter Blitz at 16:00 CEST, before chess24 Premium members have a chance to ask him a question for his Q&A session at 17:45 CEST. Simply leave a question in the comments section below.
Boris Gelfand is a perfect example of how talent combined with total dedication to chess can work wonders, with the Israeli grandmaster earning a World Championship match against Vishy Anand in 2012, at the age of 43. Boris took the lead before the match went to rapid tiebreaks, where he fell just short.
Now's your chance to play Boris as he first plays Banter Blitz at 16:00 CEST on Saturday.
Then directly after playing against Premium members, Boris will be taking questions that you can ask now below this article. Don't miss the chance to quiz one of the strongest, most principled characters in chess over the last few decades.
The Q&A session is part of a feast for chess fans that saw all 10 players in the chess24 Legends of Chess (and some commentators) playing Banter Blitz and/or giving a Q&A session. The schedule for the last few events is below:
Friday 7th August
Saturday 8th August
We've already had Q&A sessions with Vishy Anand, Vasyl Ivanchuk, Vladimir Kramnik, Peter Svidler, Anish Giri, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Peter Leko and, most recently, Ding Liren:
