Today World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, fresh from winning the chess24 Legends of Chess, will play a simul against chess24 users who recently took up a special 2-year Premium Membership offer. Magnus will stream live as he plays and there may be time for some questions, which you can ask in the comments below this article. Peter Svidler will also play a simul tomorrow, and there’s still time to book a place in that one!
Magnus will be taking on 31 players, in two batches, with all the players having 30 minutes for the game plus a 30-second increment from move 1. He’ll be streaming as he plays, starting from 18:00 CEST on Thursday 6th August:
Magnus will not be the only player streaming!
You can also follow the games on a chessboard with live computer analysis (click on a result/evaluation to open the game, also with video embedded):
If there’s time Magnus will answer some questions from chess24 Premium members – simply leave your question (one per Premium member) in the comments section below.
It’s too late to join the Magnus simul, but there are still places up for grabs in a simul against 8-time Russian Champion Peter Svidler, which will take place tomorrow, Friday 7th August, at 18:00 CEST. To get a guaranteed place simply purchase a new 2-year Premium membership, or extend your Premium membership by 2 years, using the voucher code SIMUL2.
The time control is the same as for the Magnus simul… or is it?
In the run-up to the simul with Magnus we also have a Q&A session with Chinese no. 1 and world no. 3 Ding Liren, starting at 16:00 CEST. You can ask him a question here: Q&A with Ding Liren
