Jan's Opening Clinic 21

Got a question on chess openings? You've come to the right place! Grandmaster Jan Gustafsson has worked with the likes of Peter Leko, Peter Svidler and of course World Champion Magnus Carlsen and is once again ready to tackle the problems of chess24 Premium Members. This time you might want to ask him about his latest video series, since with his repertoire against 1.Nf3, 1.c4 and 1.g3 he's basically covered everything you need to face any opening other than 1.e4! Simply leave your question under this article.

In case you missed Jan’s Opening Clinic 20, the questions were asked under this article, and then Jan responded in seven roughly 1-hour shows: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7.

In the last show Jan suggested that in Jan's Opening Clinic 21 you might want to ask him about anything you find missing from his new video series, since combined with his four-part Repertoire against 1.d4 it aims to give you everything you need to play Black against all White's "closed" games.

Of course you're also free to ask for advice on different topics - pro tip: Jan's a big fan of the King's Gambit and the Dutch Defence!

To ask a question you need to be a chess24 Premium Member. If you're not yet then why not try it out for just $/€9.99 a month (or less per month if you take out a 1-year or longer membership). That gives you access to hundreds of hours of chess videoseBooksunlimited tactics puzzlescloud analysis and database tools, unrestricted chat, no ads and much more, including the chance to play grandmasters in Banter Blitz.

Recently we had 8-time Dutch Champion (and trash talking legend) Loek van Wely in Hamburg to film a video series on chess endings, but he also found time to play some blitz, with Jan making a cameo appearance at the end:

Enough distractions, though. If you're a Premium Member you can leave your question for Jan in the comments section below - only one per member, please, so there's time for everyone.

We expect to publish Jan's answers as weekly shows again, starting at 17:00 CEST on Thursday 9th August.
