Jan’s Opening Clinic 14

If your New Year’s resolutions included brushing up on your chess openings you’ve come to the right place! The good doctor Jan Gustafsson is back to answer questions from chess24 Premium members this Tuesday 3rd January, while everyone is free to watch the 2-hour show. Simply leave your question in the comments under the article below.

It’s been four months since Jan’s last Opening Clinic, but he has some decent excuses. Not only did he become a father for the first time, he also helped prepare openings for none other than World Champion Magnus Carlsen in the run-up to the match in New York. So much as it pains us to admit it, he really does know what he’s talking about

After not only helping one of the players but commentating on the Carlsen-Karjakin match he’s been busy. First he published the long-awaited 3rd installment of his black repertoire against 1.d4, dealing with the Nimzo-Indian Defence:

A couple of days ago he published his Review of 2016 in Chess:

Then today, at 18:00 CET, he’s playing Banter Blitz, so if you’re a chess24 Premium member you can challenge him to a game!

While tomorrow, at 16:00 CET, it’s the Opening Clinic!

If you’re a chess24 Premium member simply leave a question (one only, so Jan can get through them all) in the comments section below and he’ll answer during the live show. The question can be on any topic related to chess openings, from general advice to specific opening lines. Don’t worry if you can’t watch live as the show will be available to replay on demand on our Shows page
