Jan & Lawrence on the World Championship

Our commentary dream team of GM Jan Gustafsson and IM Lawrence Trent spent most of the World Championship trying to avoid each other, broadcasting live or recapping events in different languages and countries. Finally, however, we’ve managed to get them together for a live show this evening, 26 November 2014, at 18:30 CET. Now that the dust has settled after Magnus Carlsen beat Vishy Anand in Sochi what conclusions can we draw from the match? That's the kind of serious question we expect they'll be trying to avoid

The show is now over but if you missed it live you can rewatch it below:

While you’re waiting you might want to relive the minute that was surely the commentary highlight of the whole event. Lawrence Trent was commentating on Game 6 in Spanish (who knew!?) with our Spanish editor David Martinez and Spanish no. 1 Paco Vallejo. Just when the English and Russian live streams had gone on the worst-timed advertisement break in living memory, Magnus Carlsen made a move that could have changed chess history:

If your appetite for World Championship recaps still hasn't been sated you can also watch GM Niclas Huschenbeth's recap, which he posted on his YouTube channel:
