Twice today the computer would not allow me to castle.  The king was not in check, nor was it moving over a square protected by the enemy forces.

    how do i castle?

    like this

in other words the king can move two squares and the rook jumps over him and HAS to stay by his side. another thing you have to keep in mind is to make sure there are no pieces between your king and rook. if there are pieces, castling is not possible.

    Hope this is helpful!:)
