Small Nations 2016 Individual Championship

The second Small Nations Individual Championship takes place in Luxembourg from April 1st to 11th. Each member Federation (Andorra, Cyprus, Guernsey, Faroe Islands, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, and San Marino) is invited to send one player as its representative to this 12-player round-robin tournament. (The host Luxembourg nominates the 11th player and the 12th spot goes to one of the top three players in the Zone.) The winner of the tournament receives €2,000 euros and qualifies for the 2017 FIDE World Cup (FIDE Zone 1.10). Players receive 90 minutes for 30 moves, then an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds per move starting from move one. Official site: sn2016.flde.lu
