I was hoping that the recent bugs would have been resolved by now. That’s not the case and I’m sorry that you’ve had to wait for a reaction from me. So, this is the situation:
For all of you who don’t know: we’re trying to implement chess960 and to broadcast the Champions Showdown.
In order to implement chess960 we had to integrate many new elements – the chess logic had to be adjusted and the chess logic is part of almost everything on our site. Effects could be seen almost everywhere. We definitely underestimated the consequences and Beta testing was not sufficient.
We’re not a big corporate company with faceless employees everywhere. We’re a small team – everyone knows everyone, we care about our customers and we listen. Unfortunately ambitious projects can fail and sometimes the consequences can be dire, especially for a small team like ours. At the moment we’re working hard to find and erase all the bugs.
If we’re not successful with that we’ll roll back the chess960 implementation completely and postpone those changes indefinitely. We’d like to avoid that if possible, though, so we ask you for a little more time and patience as we try to put things right. We really appreciate your support!
