Short Elo report about the World Cup

Some more illustration of the randomness factor due to the mixing of classical, rapid and blitz in one tournament. If we check the classical Elo gains and losses after the classical part of the Semifinals, the winners are Duda (+17.6), Firouzja (+10.2) and Vitiugov (+9.8). That sounds reasonable because they had a comparatively lower Elo to start with. Next come Radjabov (+6.2) and Xiong (+5.5). That looks small given their remarkable trajectory, especially for Xiong (lower rating than Duda to start with, for example). And finally, Ding Liren has lost 7.2 points...
I understand the logic of this and how it is possible without any mistake, but it seems to me that either the (classical) Elo ranking has lost a lot of relevance (and we should setup a combined ranking, some readable alternative), or something is wrong in the World Cup format.
