Hikaru takes advantage of 15..e6? by taking control of dark squares. If Dubov plays 16..Bh6 17Qh4! and if Dubov plays 16..Bf8 then 17Qg3! attacking Ne5 with initiative. Dubov tried 16..Ng4 17 Qf3! but decided to give a piece by 17..Qf6 instead of playing 17..Nf6 18 e5 Ne4 which was a better try.

Dubov should have tried 23..e3 regaining one of the two pieces he sacrificed.
Here Hikaru found a great resource 24 Be1!saving the bishop. on 24..e3 25Rf8+! Ef8 26Ne2 +-

Dubov resigned. if 27..Kg8 28 Ne7 Checkmate ! if 27..Be5 28 Re2 and White is up two pieces. Hikaru broke the d4-g1 pin again !
With this win, Nakamura plays the next stage, and Dubov exits the tournament (with Harikrishna). Dubov and Nakamura finished Group A stage with 5 points out of 10. Artemiev and Carlsen scored 6/10 and were tied for first.
